Wait, what?
The recital is next Sunday? I just started playing a couple of weeks ago.  I THOUGHT I HAD MORE TIME.  And I just got most of the music today…guess this week will be burying my head into drums, flute, and trumpet music. BRB PRACTICING ‘TIL I DIE THIS WEEK.

I read Catcher in the Rye.
wellofcromulence: It was okay, I guess. It didn’t change my life. I don’t think I even found it particularly memorable. I have never read it, or anything by Salinger.  Apparently, my high school failed at literature. I’d like to read it, just because I have been trying to read all the classics, to see what I’ve missed, but I fear it might give people more reason to label me as a...

HOLY CRAP
Mousling is still alive and started to walk around a little.  He looks worn out, but alert. Miracle recovery? I’m not getting my hopes up, because he is gravely injured, but he is hanging on like crazy.

Mercy killing?
The first time one of my kids accidentally let a mousling loose, somehow my big dumb marmalade moron didn’t attack or kill it on the spot.  I found Sam in my bedroom, curiously following the pup around and looking at me like “WTF IS THAT, MOM?”.  I caught the mousling, put it back in the cage, and gave my daughters a stern talking-to about not opening the mouse cage without my...

HERE'S THE THING, GAWKER, SOCCER MOMS, AND ALL THE...
Mr. Townshend is not a registered sex offender in his home country or anywhere else.  He was exonerated by the police in 2003, and even the organization that originally laid the accusations against him admitted that they had screwed up and had wrongly accused him.  He was never suspected, accused, charged, or even rumored to have had any kind of inappropriate contact with any child, ever.  So all...

AND THE TIME DIFFERENCE, TOO
I should mention that.  It came on at noon for us (today is Thursday).  So bizarre. Still lame—sleeping at noon—but still, less lame than falling asleep before 9?  :D What’s good today?  What’s making you happy?  What’s making you sad?

Frantic Steve Jobs Stays Up All Night Designing...
wellofcromulence: CUPERTINO, CA—Claiming that he completely forgot about the much-hyped electronic device until the last minute, a frantic Steve Jobs reportedly stayed up all night Tuesday in a desperate effort to design Apple’s new tablet computer. “Come on, Steve, just think—think, dammit—you’re running out of time,” the exhausted CEO said as he glued nine separate iPhones to the back of a...

Mispronunciation
I should probably correct my children when they say “calapitter” instead of “caterpillar”, or “aposterpee” instead of “apostrophe”, but it’s so charming I can’t bring myself to do it.  Oh, and “Hollow Kitty” instead of “Hello Kitty”. I figure, hell, they’re 7 years old.  They’ll say it right...

APC'S COVER OF "IMAGINE"
If I’m in the mood for them, I like A Perfect Circle. But their cover of “Imagine” is creepy, awful, and depressing.  I hate it.  It sounds like a death march, and any wistful hopefulness you could get from it is destroyed by the unnecessary minor chords.  Do not want.
